Fantastic feature, thank you! So for our "normal" calendars where short leg expires after earnings, when we see 0w, 4w - that means short leg expires on week of earnings, long leg expires 4 weeks later. For those "pre earnings" calendars, -4w is obviously the short leg expiring 4 weeks before earnings, and 4w means the distance between the strikes, correct? So for GS, the current setup is 4w calendar while all previous cycles were 5w, which makes the RV not apples to apples comparison.

We trade mostly straddles. We do strangles mostly when the stock is between strikes. More info: Straddle, Strangle Or Reverse Iron Condor (RIC)?

Thank you @Yowster As we always say, there are plenty of trading opportunities in both official and unofficial forums. Probably more than one can take. Just take a look how members already booked some nice gains in BKNG, and others traded GOOG for 30%+ gains. Those are just two recent examples.
-
We are not having another 10k portfolio. Our target allocation is around 60-70%, so we will probably have more trades.

Dear members, Many of our current and former members know our long time mentor @Yowster for his highly valuable contributions to SteadyOptions community. Many of you learned to appreciate his high professionalism and patience. I'm pleased to inform all members that going forward @Yowster will start contributing trades to our official model portfolio. This will allow us to expand the quantity and the quality of our trades, sometimes providing a slightly different angle and perspective. SteadyOptions is getting even better! Now you will get official trades from two traders for the price of one! This means more selection and more diversity. Those who followed @Kim to get the posts in trades and discussions forums, please don't forget to follow @Yowster. Of course you can also continue following the forums and the topics. Have a good trading!

@songlake68 I would recommend reading the "Must read topics" on the right side of the main forum page. Specifically, Short Strangles topic presents the case why we use the short strangles to hedge our straddles. The main idea is to reduce the risk by trying to offset the negative theta of the straddles, which also allows us to open those trades much earlier than we used to, and to do more trades. In some cases opening straddle only would work better than straddle only (like the latest MSFT and BUD trades), but it also increases the risk. Those strangles are not naked - they are covered by the straddles, so I don't see why they cannot be used in TFSA and RRSP accounts

Thank you @Bull3t007 I can see few new ratings and few new comments. I see few 3 star and 4 star ratings - which is completely fine. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but at least I know that those are real ratings from real members who actually tried the service. Those who provided a 3 star rating - I welcome your feedback, publicly or privately, so we can improve and become even better.

Hello all, As many of you know, SteadyOptions has been #1 ranked newsletter on Investimonials and stockgumshoe. However, few days ago we found out that our rating on Stock Gumshoe went down from 5 stars to 2 stars. There are no adverse comments but it appears over 60 people have given our service a 1 star rating, 50 of them within 24 hours. Those are obviously fake ratings. I'm in contact with Stock Gumshoe to fix it, but if you enjoy the service and wish to help, here is what you can do: Post a rating in all 4 categories. Post a comment sharing your experience with the service. Contact stockgumshoe and let them know what do you think. Thank you for your support!

I doubt it. I know some cases where IB mistakes cost clients tens of thousands of dollars and they refused to give any compensation.
-
That sucks.. and this is definitely one of the biggest issues with IB. When things go smoothly they are great. Great fills, good commissions. But when you need them, their customer service is terrible. They always assume that they are perfect, and if something doesn't work, it's the customer's fault.
-
This is strange. Maybe try to restart TWS.
-
I believe LLC is automatically considered "professional" and triggers much higher fees.
-
@craigsmithOne thing to consider is how IB displays the mid. It is the mid of the spread, while Tradier and TOS display the mid based on the individual legs. In this example, the mid of the Jun15 calls is 8.25 and mid of Jun08 calls is 7.65, and the real mid is 0.60 not 0.68.

At the same time, many times prices do retreat and provide a better entry point. Recent examples include TLT, NTES, FB and more.

Under Earnings Trades Discussions, Non-Earnings Trades Discussions as I mentioned to you in PM. Unofficial Trade Ideas are mostly unofficial ideas posted by other members. You need to open and close 3 trades to be flagged. CRM was only one leg opened and closed the same day, and it is pretty rare for us to do it. All new members: Please make sure to read the Welcome to SteadyOptions post and Frequently Asked Questions. it will be time well spent.

My comments: Many times I simply take advantage of the temporary dip in the price and get filled at the bottom of the trading range. This is what happened to the recent CRM trade. As you can see from the chart posted on the discussion topic, the recent range was 0.50-0.64. I simply placed a limit order at 0.50 and got filled. The discussion topic clearly mentioned the price target for the calendar, so members could place the same order in advance. SO members can impact prices temporary if they continue raising their bids. But if the "real" prices are lower, the price will come down after all bids have been filled. And this is true for less liquid stocks only. Stock like TLT, MSFT, VXX, SPX, FB, IBM etc. are obviously not impacted. Being proactive, doing your research, looking at some of the unofficial candidates is the best way to use SO service. Yes, you will need to have some level of confidence and experience to do it - this is why we recommend to stick around and not give up after few weeks or months. This is a process that takes time. Members who stick around and learn the strategies are greatly rewarded. Those who decide to give up after short period of time - well, I guess it's their loss. I don't know about traders outside of steadyoptions. Sharing our trades with people who dodn't have active subscription is a serious violation of our terms and conditions. We already banned few members for doing it (yes we have ways to find out), so those who want to continue being members, I strongly recommend not doing it.

It is @dbh21He is not posting the charts anymore, but he was a pioneer and we are all very grateful to him for his contribution! Tools to analyze the earnings trades was originally written by him. Kirk sells strangles to take advantage of IV crash. Here is why we don't do it: Why We Sell Our Straddles Before Earnings How NOT To Trade NFLX Earnings

Thanks for being a member. Good luck, and hope to see you back.
-
Another tool that many members use: CMLviz Trade Machine There is also huge topic under unofficial trades discussing CMLviz trades.
-
Last time I checked they didn't.

@DjtuxSome charts have 1-2 outliers which makes it difficult to read the chart. For example: Is there a way to remove some cycles, or at least to re-scale the chart (in this case I would like to see up to 0.40% RV)?
