📌 Use this guide to find the right treatment for common fish diseases!
🦠 Protozoan Parasites (Ich, Velvet, Hexamita, etc.)
- ✅ Metronidazole (Metroplex) – Best for Hexamita, internal protozoa.
- ✅ Copper Sulfate (Cupramine) – Treats Ich & Velvet (toxic to inverts).
- ✅ Formalin (Quick Cure, Paraguard) – Strong but effective for Ich & Velvet.
- ✅ Acriflavine – Used for mild Velvet, fungal & protozoan infections.
🦠 Bacterial Infections (Fin Rot, Columnaris, Septicemia, etc.)
- ✅ Furan-2 – Best for external infections like Fin Rot.
- ✅ Kanaplex (Kanamycin) – Broad-spectrum, treats internal infections.
- ✅ Erythromycin – Used for mild bacterial infections (reef-safe alternative).
- ✅ Doxycycline / Minocycline (Maracyn-2) – Good for resistant bacterial infections.
🍄 Fungal Infections (Saprolegnia, Egg Fungus, etc.)
- ✅ Methylene Blue – Safe for fungus on eggs & mild infections.
- ✅ Malachite Green – Stronger, effective for Ich + fungal issues.
- ✅ Pimafix – Herbal antifungal (only for mild cases).
