Closing a position using the Interactive Brokers trading platform

Hi All,

 

I am still trying to understand how to maximise the Interactive Brokers trading platform.

 

I have no issue opening a position at a defined target spread but I have not been able to do it for closing the position. 

The platform will force me to enter a target price for each of the legs independently and submit the order separately.

 

Do you know how to close both legs at the same time for a pre-defined Spread target? I have already look in the IB help section but could not find any answer.

 

Let me know if I am missing something

I have the exact same problem. Its hard to close spreads in there aparently .

I also found it incredibly difficult to close combos, between looking at the platform docs and speaking with trader support. Im sure its like riding a bike once you get the hang of it, its relatively easy.

 

Perhaps someone can provide the specific steps?

Basically you need to add a combo to a quote monitor. Once it's there, you just right click on it and select "Close position".
