Best Resource to Learn Technical Indicators

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I think learning a bit about technical analysis might help in option trading by selecting the right strikes in a spread order.

But I don't know at all about the various TA styles and indicators (RSI, MACD support and resistance etc.) and there are a lot of them out there and books/websites.

Does anyone have a particular book or resource to help a newbie get started?

Best,

PC

I learned everything about chart reading from that website. it's a very good resource for all things related to charting. it's also free :) I basically just use those 3 indicators you mentioned. I always have the MACD and RSI on, plus a SMA. Now i have the custom augen study on as well.

the Bollinger band is good to use as well. works especially well in conjunction with the Augen study.

I can strongly recommend Brian Shannon's book as a primer. He shows why technical analysis is important, constantly relating price action to the psychology of participants. Avoids jargon, explains concepts clearly.
